This is a reading site: no accounts, no forms, no newsletter, and the only cookie it sets stores the language you choose. This page explains which data is processed anyway, who is responsible for it, and how to exercise your rights.
Who is responsible
Carlos Tapia SpA, RUT 78.526.001-5. Contact for anything about your data: hola@carlostapia.cl.
What data is processed, and why
- Visits. A cookieless analytics tool, served from this site’s own domain, counts visits in aggregate: page viewed, referring site, country, browser, operating system and device type. Your IP address is only used to tell visits on the same day apart and is not stored. No profile of you is built.
- Visits, second count. An external analytics service also receives page views in a mode that sets no cookies and stores no identifier in your browser: page, referring site, approximate country, browser and device. It is used to compare against the first count. That service processes data outside Chile.
- Errors. An error monitoring tool sends a technical report when a page fails in your browser — error message, page, browser and operating system, and the IP address the report comes from — plus a sample of performance measurements. It is used only to fix failures.
- Server logs. The hosting provider records requests technically (IP address, date, page requested, browser) to run and protect the service.
- Email. If you write to hola@carlostapia.cl, I receive your address, your name and whatever you tell me, and use them to reply. Mail goes through an email provider.
- Forms on other pages of this domain. Some pages of Carlos Tapia SpA under carlostapia.cl subdomains — to download a guide or request an analysis — have a form. They collect your email, your name (optional), what you write in the form (such as links to your profiles or website, and notes), the page you came from and your IP address, which an anti-bot verification service checks. This data is used to send you what you asked for and to contact you about it. It is stored in a managed database and the emails go out through an email provider.
What is not done
- Your data is not sold, rented or shared for third-party advertising.
- This site (carlostapia.cl) sets no tracking or advertising cookies and loads no advertising pixels. Some subdomain pages with forms do load an advertising platform pixel, which may set its own cookies, to measure the campaigns that bring visitors there; the platform processes that data under its own policy.
- No automated decisions are made about you.
Who else processes it
Only service providers acting on behalf of Carlos Tapia SpA, for the purposes above: hosting provider, analytics tools, error monitoring tool, email provider, managed database and anti-bot verification service. Some of them process data outside Chile.
How long it is kept
Emails and form data are kept while they are needed to reply to you or continue the conversation, or until you ask for them to be deleted. Analytics are kept only in aggregate. Error reports and server logs are kept for the limited periods set by each tool.
Your rights
Under Chilean Law 19.628 on the protection of private life, and Law 21.719, which amends it and takes effect on December 1, 2026, you can request access to your data, its rectification, its deletion (cancellation) and object to its processing — the ARCO rights — and, under Law 21.719, also portability and the temporary blocking of processing.
Write to hola@carlostapia.cl saying which right you want to exercise. It is free. I may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on the request, and I will reply within the legal deadlines.
If you believe your rights were not respected, you can file a complaint with the Chilean Personal Data Protection Agency once it is operating.
Changes
If the site starts collecting other data, this page is updated first and the date above changes.
